Host an Icebreaker Session in Minutes

Remote team during an icebreaker session on a video call

Looking for team building bingo that your colleagues will enjoy? Launch a synchronized session right in the browser: custom icebreaker cards, QR-code access, zero downloads. Participants join from any device in seconds, the numbers appear on every screen in real time, and the platform validates completed patterns automatically β€” no awkward setup, no printed handouts required. You can also use our ready-made PDF sets for in-person sessions.

Where Work Teams Use It

  • Remote and hybrid check-ins: five minutes at the start of a weekly call to reconnect the team.
  • Onboarding: new hires learn names, faces, and team trivia without any pressure.
  • All-hands warm-ups: energize a large meeting before the agenda starts.
  • Office parties and workshops: a shared moment between two working sessions.
  • HR engagement programs: a recurring, low-prep team ritual everyone understands.

Want to try the app before inviting the team? Host a free interactive session with up to 25 participants and see the format in minutes.

One Session, Several Offices

Distributed company? Host a single synchronized session across every location: each office projects the same board on its meeting-room screen while remote colleagues join from home. Everyone marks the same numbers at the same moment β€” one activity, one result list, all sites together.

Several office locations joined in one synced session

Works with Zoom, Teams, Meet β€” and Natively in Webex

No integration is needed for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet: share your screen with the number board while participants mark their cards on their own devices. And if your company runs on Webex, Bingo Maker goes further β€” the flashboard runs natively inside Webex meetings, embedded directly in the call window.

Icebreaker Bingo: Square Ideas for Your Team

Also known as people bingo or human bingo, the icebreaker format replaces numbers with facts about your colleagues. Draft your prompts in an Excel or Word document, then copy and paste the list when you create your bingo project β€” the squares fill automatically. Let the team discover each other:

  • “Has worked here for 5+ years”
  • “Speaks three languages”
  • “Has met the CEO”
  • “Started this year”
  • “Works from another time zone”
  • “Owns more than two pets”
  • “Has presented at an all-hands”
  • “Drinks tea instead of coffee”

Mix company-specific squares with universal ones so everyone can participate, and keep the prompts inclusive β€” nothing too personal, nothing that singles anyone out. Import your own list and plan a fully custom session for your team.

ℹ️ How does the session unfold? (Host guide) 🧐

Before the session: create your project with the prompt list, then hand out the cards β€” participants scan the QR code for virtual grids, or receive printed sets. Every card holds a different mix of prompts.

During the session β€” the announced format: generate the prompts one at a time. When “Has met the CEO” appears, pause for the icebreaker moment: ask who in the room has met the CEO, and let one or two colleagues share a 20-second story. Then everyone who has that square on their card marks it β€” on virtual grids, the platform validates it automatically. Announce the next prompt and repeat. You mark a square because it was announced and appears on your card; the short stories are what turn the session into a real icebreaker. For “Owns more than two pets”, expect names and photos β€” that is the point.

Completing a pattern: the first participant to complete the required pattern β€” five in a row, four corners, or any objective you selected β€” announces “Bingo!”, and the Validation List confirms the result instantly. Celebrate the participants who completed it; if several finish in the same round, make a random selection among them. A small treat works well β€” team snacks or an extra coffee break β€” but the shared stories are the real outcome.

In-person variant (no generator): hand out the printed cards and let colleagues circulate. To mark a square, they must find a teammate who matches the prompt and note their name in it. The first completed line announces “Bingo!”. Our ready-made PDF sets work for both formats.

Keep it going: restart in one click, pick a new pattern, and chain two or three quick rounds β€” sessions stay energetic when each round lasts a few minutes.

How It Works in 4 Steps

four steps to set up and host an icebreaker session

  • 1. Create your cards: fill the squares with company values, inside jokes, fun facts about the team, or classic get-to-know-you prompts, then create your custom cards in minutes.
  • 2. Share the link or QR code: colleagues join from their phone or laptop on the Public Page β€” you can also set up a private event page with your branding (images and external links).
  • 3. Project the number board: share your screen during the videoconference so every participant follows along in real time.
  • 4. Automatic validation: the first participant to complete the pattern announces “Bingo!”, and the platform confirms the result instantly in the Validation List.

How to Import Your Prompt List πŸ“‹

Any list on this page β€” or your own β€” imports in seconds: copy it with the blue button, then in the app click “New Bingo Project“, select “Words / Phrases“, and paste. The squares fill automatically, and the generator accepts from 25 to 150 values per project.

Pay Per Session β€” Not Per Participant

Most facilitated team platforms charge per attendee, per month. Bingo Maker works on pay-per-use credits: you set up the session, everyone joins free, and the credits only cover the templates you generate. A 25-card session starts at 2 credits β€” and signup includes 2 trial credits, so your first icebreaker costs nothing. See the full credit pricing for larger events.

Frequently Asked Questions

❓ How many colleagues can join a session?

Up to 3,000 cards per session β€” enough for an all-hands or a full company event. Each participant can have from 1 to 4 cards per web browser.

❓ Do guests need an account or a download?

No. Participants open the link or scan the QR code, enter the session password, and receive their cards in the browser β€” nothing to install, and no signup for guests. You can also use access codes to manage each card precisely.

❓ Can we add our company branding?

Yes, at two levels. Your private event page can carry your logo, images, and links to reflect your organization. And when you generate the printed cards, the white-label option hides our branding and replaces it with yours β€” insert your logo, custom images, and brand colors on both printed and virtual templates.
